It’s that incredible time of year again when globally we gear up for the largest gathering women and youth in New York City at the United Nations for the Commission on the Status of Women. This upcoming year, Southern Africa Embrace Foundation is inviting interested delegates intending to be part of the conference from anywhere around the world to apply to be part of our organization’s CSW Delegation at the United Nations in New York City.

As one of the civil society organizations holding UN- ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, together we have a powerful stage to influence and propel advocacy and activism on matters related to the achievement of Gender Equality and CSW67 on the ‘’Priority theme: Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls

Review theme: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-second session)

Application to be part of our delegation is currently open until January 15, 2023. As one of the CSW Delegation for Southern Africa Embrace Foundation, you will have the opportunity to engage, network and contribute to the overall outcomes of the conference. This opportunity grants you access to side events hosted within the UN Headquarters and parallel events hosted outside of the UN Premises including the official opening ceremony held inside the General Assembly, which is only exclusive to UN Member States, Diplomats, Representatives of ECOSOC registered organizations and other privately invited delegates.

We are especially encouraging youth to apply to be part of the experience as they play a very important role in driving change and co-leadership. There are only Twenty (20) slots available, we encourage you to submit your interest as soon as possible to be considered. All approved delegates will be informed on January 20, 2023, right before registration closes for participants in the UN Indico system.

We are looking for people who are:

• Passionate and are active in their communities on issues of gender equality, poverty alleviation and UN SDGs.
• Passionate about climate change and why it is important that this issue is put at t forefront of advocacy to advance women’s socio- economic empowerment.
• Passionate about youth empowerment and Intergenerational Mentorship and Co leadership
• Inspired to change policy and address key issues in this field through the United Nations platform.

Important requirements needed to apply:

• A UN Grounds pass for only the duration of CSW67 will be granted to you on behalf of SAE Foundation
• Commit to attend at least 3 days of physical events in New York City between March 6-10, 2023 (You will be free to attend any other events of your choosing until closing of CSW66 on March 17th)
• Fill in the CSW67 CSW67 Appliocation Form

Once selected as a delegate you agree to:

• When approved as part of the SAE Foundation, you will give a donation of CAD $100 to contribute towards the team’s administrative costs for CSW67 which will help to ensure all delegates have a fruitful experience and outcome. Donations can be made via our Website, CanadaHelps and or via PayPal (Please note that the United Nations does NOT charge for registration to CSW or to obtain a UN Grounds Pass).
• Commit to participating in one virtual meeting to e-meet other delegates and the SAE Foundation team ahead of CSW67
• Commit to covering your own personal costs to attend CSW67 which include flights, accommodations, ground transport and meals in New York City.
• Uphold personal social media requirements to share on your participation at the conference tagging Southern Africa Embrace Foundation
• Commit to writing and submitting a 500-word report to SAE Foundation within 7 days of CSW67 Closing
• Commit to withhold the Integrity of the organization during the CSW67

* All delegates will receive a formal reference letter following a successful participation this hybrid conference.
